Percutaneous cardioplegic arrest before repeat sternotomy in patients with retrosternal aortic aneurysm

چکیده

ObjectiveRedo sternotomy in patients with arterial cardiac structures adherent to the sternum carries a risk of catastrophic bleeding. In some those cases, particularly if they have undergone multiple previous operations, deep hypothermic circulatory arrest alone may not provide sufficient time for controlled dissection.MethodsWe present series 6 cases at exsanguination during sternal re-entry successfully reoperated using percutaneous cardioplegic induced before completed avoid or minimize time.ResultsAll survived their complex operations.ConclusionsPercutaneous allows safer repeat sternum.

Aortic Valve replacement with Reduction Aortoplasty with Mesh Prosthesis in 75 years old with Sever aortic Regurgitation with Aortic Aneurysm

Although classic and standard procedure for patients with ascending Aorta aneurysm with Sever aortic Regurgitation is Bentall surgery but in some selected cases this complex surgery was not performed with different reason like advanced age and coexisting comorbidity involving renal and hepatic and lung Function. In our cases 75 years old man with chronic renal failure ( Cr= 3.2 ) who was known ...

Measuring of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm with Three-Dimensional Computed Tomography Reconstruction before Endovascular Aortic Aneurysm Repair

PURPOSE Conventional computed tomography (CT) is the gold standard method for case planning for endovascular aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR). However, aortography with a marking catheter is needed for measuring the actual length of an aneurysm. With advances in imaging technology, a 3-dimensional (3D) workstation can obviate the need for the aortography. The objective of this study was to determi...

Percutaneous repair of abdominal aortic aneurysm.

OBJECTIVE Percutaneous treatment of an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is feasible, but is associated with a unique set of risks. A comparison of Excluder endograft deployment with femoral artery cutdown (FAC) versus percutaneous femoral access (PFA) for treatment of infrarenal AAA was undertaken. METHODS A single-institution, controlled, retrospective review was carried out in patients who u...

Evaluation of blood products utilization in abdominal aortic aneurysm repair patients’ elective surgery in ShohadaTajrish Hospital

Abstract Background and Objectives Aortic aneurysm repair surgery (AAAs) is associated with massive bleeding that causes coagulation disorders during and after surgery. Considering that blood consumption in these patients has been studied in a few articles, we decided to investigate more. Materials and Methods In a cross-sectional study, patients with abdominal aortic aneurysms requiring surg...

Surgical approach to retrosternal goitre: do we still need sternotomy?

Retrosternal goitre is defined as a goitre with a portion of its mass > or = 50% located in the mediastinum. Surgical removal is the treatment of choice and, in most cases, the goitre can be removed via a cervical approach. Aim of this retrospective study was to analyse personal experience in the surgical management of retrosternal goitres, defining, in particular, the features requiring sterno...
